During each of our scheduled lawn service treatments, we monitor your lawn’s health to help identify and prevent any potential problems. We employ weed control treatments, fertilization, early diagnosis of diseases (fungus), and potential problems caused by insects. All of this information will be taken into consideration when treating your lawn.
We treat your lawn every 6 weeks.
Weed Control – is a program of removing undesirable plant growth in either turf areas or plant bed areas. Some examples might be dollar weed, dandelions, garden spurge, sedge, crabgrass and dichondria. Also if you have a yard of St. Augustine grass with Bermuda grass growing in it, the Bermuda would be considered a weed.
Fungus Control – is a program of controlling root related pathogens in turf or ornamental plantings. In turf, examples of this are Brown patch fungus and gray leaf spot fungus, in shrubs it may be Pythia or yellow leaf spot.
Fertilization – is a program of supplying the necessary nutrients for both your turf and ornamental plantings to be healthy.
Regardless of the conditions, our programs are designed to transform your lawn with our custom Jacksonville Lawn Care approach. We are not a national company, nor do we utilize the spray and go approach used by so many of our competitors. We understand that each Jacksonville Lawn is unique, which is why we customize our treatment based on your lawn care needs.
Tips for hiring a high-quality lawn care service:
Don’t hire a company that won’t inspect your grass before starting work. Make sure your technician measures the size of your lawn, understands your grass type and takes note of existing damage. Get everything in writing before you hire.
- Be wary of treatment companies with flashy ads that sound too good to be true. If the price is extremely low, there’s probably a reason why.
- Make sure your provider is licensed and certified as required by your state.
- Avoid companies that encourage you to commit to service on the spot.
- Ask potential hires about their refund policy, or if their work is guaranteed. Make sure to get it in writing. You shouldn’t have to pay for incomplete or sloppy work.
- Make sure to get a detailed invoice after each visit detailing the scope of the work.
Although it is always important to keep your irrigation system working properly, it is especially important at the beginning of spring. We really want to start them out healthy and ready for the summer heat.
Avoid watering from 11 AM-3 PM, the hottest part of the day. It is best to water between 6-10 AM. There's less wind, less hot sun, and your lawn has a full day to dry. Watering at night invites mildew and fungus but if you can't water in the morning aim for around 4-7 PM. In the hot afternoon, much of your water can be lost to wind and evaporation.
